The Giant Atlas moth (Attacus atlas) is one of the largest moths in the world, known for its wingspan of up to 10-12 inches. This gentle giant has a very short lifespan as an adult, typically lasting only one to two weeks, because it does not have a mouth and lives off of energy reserves it built up as a caterpillar.
