Orpiment

$34.00

Orpiment is a sulfide mineral composed of arsenic and sulfur. Orpiment typically forms in low-temperature hydrothermal deposits. It is found in various locations worldwide, including China, Peru, Romania, Tajikistan, and the United States. Orpiment has a long history of use as a pigment. It was used in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome for coloring ceramics, paintings, and cosmetics. Orpiment was also used as a pigment in illuminated manuscripts during the medieval period. Orpiment is highly toxic due to its arsenic content.
